Hello from the Netherlands!

The place to say hi. A good place to start if you would just like to introduce yourself to everyone.

Hello from the Netherlands!

Postby Cattystyle on 30 Dec 2009, 10:58

Hi all,

My name is Marieke, I am 34 years old and I live in The Netherlands. I own four cats and two dogs (working dogs, X-Dutch Sheperds, one of the is from this breeder, in case anyone would like to read more about this kind of dogs. ;) http://www.vanleeuwen-dutchshepherds.nl) My husband uses them for his work with Narcotics and K9 Police work in the security branche.

I currently ride at a Classical Dressage riding-school (once a week one hour). I am not particularly interested in Classical Dressage, but Natural Horsemanship is not taught at every single riding-school in the Netherlands. :x They have all kinds of breeds at the riding-school, but no TWH. Most people I talk to haven't even heard of this breed. ;)

The character of the TWH enchants me and I would like to know all there is to know about this breed! :D

Hi Marieke,
welcome to the world of TWH's! To get to know more about TWH's in Europe, I'm pleased to invite you to use the website www.littleamerica-twh.com. Here you find much info on TWH's and their owners and breeders in Europe, like a list with pictures of most TWH's in Europe.
Also, some history of the first TWH in the Netherlands, my late stallion Lad's Black Buster.
Right now, we're still busy with moving from the Netherlands to Belgium (but still close to the border) and for next year 2010 we hope for some TWH foals again, among them a Buster grandchild.
You're also welcome to get in touch and get to know the Little America horses (and dog and people!) - see contact info on the website - only the phone number 077-3665306 is obsolete as we moved away (update of website is due!).

Hi Marieke,

There are a lot of (NL) resources on Tennessee Walking Horses on the internet.
A few resources:
- http://www.gangenpaarden.nl with NL forum
- http://www.twheurope.com with links to European Breeder Owners etc.
- http://www.etwha.de the website of the European TWH association

Thanks, Oscar!

I knew those, but I didn't know that the first one had a discussion forum. Great, I will read there as well!
