Changing Bit's..

Postby Jet on 04 Nov 2009, 21:52

Hello Everyone!
I am wanting to use a Myler bit. I have had Jet since the end of July and this is the bit that came with him.
What myler bit would any of you suggest to try. At one point I tried a natrual hackamore, he didnt like that, then tried a snaffle, that was a no go too.
I am a new rider, and i am worried these long shanks will hurt Jet.
Thanks everyone!
Elaine from Kentucky..

Hello Elaine, Since you are in Kentucky I suggest you contact Gary Lane at Windswept Stables in Brodhead, Kentucky, if you have not already done so, for advice about re-bitting TWH with Myler bits. Gary Lane uses and recommends Myler bits and has been training and re-training TWH using natural horsemanship methods for 20 years. Gary Lane wrote the book: Training Gaited Horses From the Trail to the Rail. To contact Gary Lane e-mail: windsweptstables@hotmail.com or go to his website: http://www.windsweptstables.net
